What Is Bail?
Traditionally, bail is some form of property deposited or pledged to a court in order to persuade it to release a suspect from jail, on the understanding that the suspect will return for trial or forfeit the bail (and be guilty of the crime of failure to appear). In most cases bail money will be returned at the end of the trial, if all court appearances are made, no matter whether the person is found guilty or not guilty of the crime accused. But once you pay the bail bondsman the usual 10%, that money is non refundable. Since most people do not have thousands of dollars readily available, our roll as a bail bond service becomes evident. It can mean the difference between your loved one coming home to await their trial, or waiting in jail for who knows how long. Bail may not be offered by some courts under some circumstances; for instance, if the accused is considered likely not to appear for trial regardless of bail.
In the crazy times we live in today we see a lot of people caught up in addiction problems. These problems are often the driving force behind behavior that lead to prision time. Sometimes if the individual receives help the trial will have a better result. We at Baja Bail Bonds can refer a program if you need some assistance with a drug or alcohol problem.
